Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
Hi everyone!
It's National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week! We're taking part to bring awareness to the issue, educate people about poverty, and provide service opportunities to give back to the Albuquerque community.
There's lots going on this week:
~Postering/Chalking (Tues, 3pm, 163 Castetter)
~Prop-making- Footprints, posters, boxes (Tues, 6-9pm, 163 Castetter)
We'll be setting out footprints Wednesday morning that lead to the Alumni Clock and boxes around campus with poverty facts. Help prep materials as we hang out, order some pizza, listen to music, and paint!
~Hunger Banquet Table setup (Wed, 9:30am, 163 Castetter)
~Hunger Banquet Table (Wed, 11-1, Alumni Clock- Duck Pond)
People will be given hypothetical incomes and meals with the amount of food that mirrors that income level.
~Contributing to Food Drive (Thurs, all day, 163 Castetter)
Bring any non-perishable items you have to Castetter so we can donate them to the Road Runner Food Pantry!
~Service at Joy Junction (Sat, 10am, Meet at Redondo/Yale Bus Stop)
We'll be hosting lunch and serving food to people in need. There will also be opportunity to get to know them and talk to them about their experiences.
